Neleus Installation Meeting 2025

A thoroughly great meeting was enjoyed by all at Neleus Lodge on Saturday 20th September when W. Bro. Terry Cavell was installed as Worshipful Master in fine form by W. Bro. Kamaran. The 3 newest members of the Lodge, namely Bros. Charlie Killick-Dowsett, George Paine and Jerry Van Den Berg presented the Working Tools in all 3 Degrees to the W.M.. After the W.M. had appointed and installed his Officers for the year, W. Bro. Webster Springer, representing the Provincial Grand Master gave the customary address to the W.M.

It was a Meeting of many anniversaries.

V.W. Bro. Clifford Drake presented the outgoing W.M. with a Past Masters Jewel that had 1st been presented to a Brother at the corresponding Meeting 100 years ago in 1925. Neleus Lodge have their own Closing Ode of which the lyrics were written in 1925 by W. Bro. Alf Burgess to celebrate the "Coming of Age" of the lodge to be sung to the music "Moscow". The PGM at that time requested that that Closing Ode should be sung at all subsequent Installation Meetings. In accordance with that request the ode was sung for the 100th time at the meeting.

At the Festive Board, the Brethren enjoyed a sumptuous meal consisting of Vegetable Soup, Breast of Chicken with a Mushroom Sauce accompanied by Roast Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetable followed by Sticky Toffee Pudding.
