On the evening of Saturday the 18th August, VW Bro Cliff Drake scored a hole-in-one with a perfectly struck 5 iron to the 159-yard, Par 3, 15th hole at North Hants Golf Club. He was playing with his wife, Linda, and Daughter, Jane, and prior to this miraculous event, had been spraying the ball all over the place from the 10th to the 14th, such was his utter surprise when it happened.
Cliff has been a member at North Hants since 1985 and plays off a Handicap of 9, but has not had the pleasure of a hole-in-one since 1987 (and a previous one in 1985).
For those of you who take an interest in the sport of Golf, North Hants is the club where Justin Rose began his career with the Junior Section in the late-Eighties and has since progressed to become (currently) 3rd in the golfing World rankings. He visits the club regularly and is an Honorary member, sponsoring a number of Junior events at North Hants.
